Job Description:

Customer/ Supplier relations

  • Continue building on existing client relationships: calling on producers and assisting with crop planning and farm budgets.
  • Proactively seek new producer business within the area.
  • Continue building on supplier relationships: attending supplier held meetings to continuously expand your education and to assist in growing your network.
  • Provide full agronomy services, soil testing and recommendations of products.

Sales and budget planning

  • Offer a full line of crop inputs including crop protection products, seed dealers and custom fertilizer.
  • Provide pre-season sales budgeting, and report on the progress of seed, fertilizer, and crop inputs service sales throughout the season to Sales Manager
  • Work with the Sales Manager to plan fertilizer, seed, and crop protection purchase needs.

Logistics and administrative

  • Plan and assist in coordinating product deliveries to physical locations and direct shipments to customers.
  • Create custom ingredient fertilizer blend formulations based on soil test results or producer requests.
  • Input sales quotes and prepayments.
  • Assist with invoicing and monthly statements.
  • Assist with the monitoring of inventory product levels and monthly counts.
  • Participate in product order placement using vendors portals.

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role (Agronomist)
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with row crop and inputs markets
  • Certified Crop Advisor designation (related or working towards) is considered an asset.
  • Experience with sales planning and budgeting strategies.
  • Excellent networking and relationship building qualities.
  • A true team player that works well with others in a small office environment.
  • A leader that is willing to share knowledge and provide industry related insights.
